Description
The Micro Arts Program (MAP), administered by the Kansas Arts Commission within the Kansas Department of Commerce, supports small organizations that sustain Kansas’ grassroots arts community. It serves as an introduction to commission funding through modest awards, six-month performance periods, and quick turnaround. Eligible work includes cultural projects, programs, exhibitions, series, arts education projects, and other programming explicitly centered on arts and culture.
The program aims to increase student success, foster creative thinking, develop critical job skills, enhance community development, and expand arts participation across Kansas. Supported disciplines include music, dance, theatre, creative writing, literature, painting, sculpture, folk arts, photography, crafts, media arts, visual arts, museum programs, and allied major art forms.
