Description
The Microbiology Faculty Development Travel Award, offered by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), aims to increase the presence and impact of faculty with diverse perspectives and backgrounds in the microbial sciences. The award specifically supports faculty from community colleges, Asian American and Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AAPISIs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs).
Awardees receive complimentary registration and housing to attend ASM Microbe 2026, participate in a year-round virtual faculty learning community, and engage in faculty development programming. Recipients are also expected to serve as mentors in the ASM Future Leaders Mentorship Fellowship Program, contributing to the professional growth of future microbial scientists.
