The Microbiology Society’s Research Visit Grant supports members undertaking a defined piece of research in another laboratory worldwide. It funds short visits that advance innovative projects within established collaborations or help develop new collaborative initiatives. Applications involving international researchers or participants from industry or infection science are especially welcome.
Projects must be relevant to microbiology, scientifically sound and achievable during the proposed visit. The Society considers the feasibility of the experimental approach, the host laboratory’s expertise and equipment, and the benefits to the visiting researcher and both laboratories. Awards are competitive, with independent referee reports informing decisions by an Award Panel drawn from the Society’s Sustainability Committee.
