Key Information: Applicants need at least one year of paid-up eligible membership and two consecutive subscription payments.
The Microbiology Society’s Society-Supported Conference Grants help members organise in-person or virtual conferences in any field of microbiology, independently or in partnership with another society. Funding contributes to invited speakers’ travel and accommodation and other event expenses, excluding alcohol and catering. Meetings should have a clear scientific or educational rationale linked to the Society’s aims and objectives.
The programme supports timely topics, knowledge exchange and networking, with varied opportunities for delegate engagement such as panels, posters and oral presentations. Events involving international researchers or participants from industry or infection science receive priority. Assessment also considers the relevance of invited speakers’ work to the audience, equality, diversity and inclusion in speaker selection, the meeting programme and the completeness and cost-effectiveness of the budget.
