Description
Funded by the McKnight Foundation and administered by Forecast Public Art, Mid-Career Project Grants support new temporary or permanent public artwork anywhere in Minnesota. Projects may use any discipline, including performance, dance, storytelling, photography, film, sculpture, and painting. Public art can occupy public or private property, but must be free and accessible to all members of a community.
The program supports artist-conceived and artist-led projects that expand artistic development through innovation, deepened practice, or new growth in public art. Community benefit is central and may include enjoyment, beautification, civic engagement, meeting a need, or meaningful collaboration. Forecast particularly emphasizes amplifying BIPOC and Native artists, LGBTQIA+ artists, womxn artists, immigrant artists, rural artists, and artists with disabilities, reflecting Minnesota’s racial, cultural, and geographic diversity.
