    The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator Program provides established researchers in basic biological and biomedical sciences with long-term, flexible support to pursue ambitious, curiosity-driven research. HHMI Investigators are selected for their proven ability to drive advances that fundamentally change our understanding of how biology works and for fostering inclusive, collaborative research environments. Investigators become HHMI employees while maintaining their academic appointments and research labs at their home institutions, joining a vibrant network recognized for groundbreaking discoveries, including multiple Nobel Prizes.
