The Mike Reynolds Scholarship is offered by the RTDNA Foundation, the educational arm of the Radio Television Digital News Association. It provides financial support to further a young journalist’s education and recognizes good writing ability, excellent grades, dedication to the news business, a strong interest in electronic journalism, and demonstrated financial need.
The scholarship honors Mike Reynolds, who served as assignment editor and then managing editor at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, and died in 1988. In addition to the financial award, the recipient is invited to Washington, D.C., for the RTDNA Foundation First Amendment Awards and a day of professional-development training and networking with industry leaders.
