The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) funds a coordinated statewide approach to suicide prevention and mental health promotion supporting the 2027–2032 Minnesota Suicide Prevention Plan. The selected organization will strengthen systems, improve access to support, and help communities sustain evidence-informed, culturally responsive prevention efforts across all 87 counties and 11 Tribal Nations.
The program combines statewide collaboration, responsive community support, training coordination, shared learning, and continuous improvement. Work includes connecting communities with coaching, technical assistance, strategic planning, data, resources, and partners, alongside organizing the annual Minnesota Suicide Prevention Conference. Health equity priorities include addressing barriers to participation and ensuring community perspectives shape locally relevant support, particularly for populations experiencing inequities and disparities.
