Description
MIRA—International Mobility for Artistic Research—is run by the Institut français to support artists undertaking research abroad. Through two calls, MIRA Book and MIRA Arts and Crafts, it enables applicants to conduct or deepen personal research in one or more countries for a minimum of one month. The program focuses on international research and professional mobility, with separate opportunities for writing projects and craft-based artistic research.
MIRA Book, formerly the Stendhal program, covers comics, essays, fiction, children’s literature, and poetry. MIRA Arts and Crafts covers a broad range of craft disciplines, including ceramics, leather goods, weaving, decorative tapestry, and glasswork. Particular attention is given to applications that examine the environmental impact and necessity of travel in the interests of greener mobility.
