Description
Mission Innovation is administered by the Physiatry Foundation of the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP). It supports academic departments and programs in building cultures of innovation and support where residents and faculty can pursue individual and shared goals. Awards recognize both enhancements to existing initiatives and the creation of new programs.
The program welcomes broad interpretations of four priorities: elevating wellness, innovation in education, global outreach, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Supported work includes reducing burnout and improving physician satisfaction, strengthening residency teaching and assessment, expanding global health opportunities, and fostering inclusive academic physiatry environments. Projects may benefit departments, residents, physicians, medical student interest groups, and the communities they serve.
