The Missouri Value-Added Agriculture Grant Program provides partial funding for creating and developing rural agricultural businesses. Administered by the Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA), it supports new or expanded uses or technologies for agricultural products through development, processing and marketing. Eligible products include crops, horticultural products, wine grapes, bees and honey, aquaculture, planting seed, livestock, forestry and poultry products produced, processed or otherwise value-added in Missouri.
Supported work includes technical, economic, market, financial and management feasibility studies; marketing studies examining customers, demand, pricing, competition, distribution and profit potential; and business-concept development through legal consultation, business plans, prospectuses and pre-construction or pre-operational consultation. Priorities include producer-led, innovative projects with near-term commercial potential benefiting multiple producers and rural communities.
