Description
The MIT Portugal Program (MPP) supports innovative projects connecting MIT and Portuguese institutions through Joint Integrated and Seed grants. Joint Integrated proposals fund both partners, while Seed proposals fund the MIT side of a collaboration. The program seeks advances in scientific knowledge, technology readiness, solutions to real-world problems, and lasting MIT–Portugal partnerships with potential benefits for Portugal.
Research proposals may address chips/nanotechnology, energy, AI, space, climate science and climate change, Earth systems from oceans to near space, digital transformation in manufacturing, or sustainable cities. Non-research projects may promote engagement and collaboration, including joint MIT–Portuguese university courses and entrepreneurship and innovation programs. Researcher and student exchanges, and collaborations aligned with Portuguese research projects participating in European initiatives, are encouraged.
