    Description

Support for Teaching: Artists in the Classroom is a micro-grant initiative administered by MIT’s Center for Art, Science & Technology (CAST). It helps MIT instructors bring practicing artists into their classes as guest speakers, supporting visits held either virtually or in person. Visits may involve one or two artists or address one or two subjects.

The initiative supports CAST’s mission to connect art, science, and technology as mutually informing modes of exploration, knowledge, and discovery. Across its work, CAST encourages projects focused on racial and social justice and on amplifying the artistic work and voices of Black, Indigenous, and people of color. This classroom initiative operates separately from CAST’s semiannual grant cycle.
