Description
The Mitchell B. Max Award for Neuropathic Pain recognizes an individual for outstanding work in neuropathic pain, either through a single contribution or lifetime achievement. Sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), it is endowed by the United States Cancer Pain Relief Committee, the Mayday Fund, and friends of Dr. Mitchell Max. The award recognizes research accomplishments and their direct or indirect impact on understanding neuropathic pain rather than supporting a specified new project.
Selection considers scientific citizenship, research track record, career stage, professional potential, research ownership, and career trajectory. Assessment of overall impact also includes scientific integrity, academic excellence, a legacy of mentorship, outstanding professionalism, and inspiration for future generations.
