    Description

The Medical Library Association (MLA) offers this visiting fellowship to help practicing health sciences librarians study a defined aspect of their profession. Topics may include educational initiatives, scientific publishing, library management, and information science. The fellowship supplements expenses for visits, in person and/or virtually, to two or more health sciences libraries or knowledge centers in North America.

The program aims to help librarians learn from others, improve practices, and share what they learn. Proposed projects should contribute both conceptually and practically to the applicant’s professional competence and library or information management practices. The fellowship was endowed by the Bowden-Massey Foundation in 2001 in honor of David A. Kronick and expanded in 2022 to also honor Charles W. Sargent.
