Description
The Medical Library Association (MLA) awards this scholarship to a student who demonstrates excellence in scholarship and potential for accomplishment in health sciences librarianship. Part of MLA’s Advanced Education funding opportunities, it supports study in an American Library Association (ALA)–accredited graduate library school rather than a separate research project.
Established in 2022, the scholarship was renamed in 2023 in honor of Dr. Ana Cleveland, AHIP, FMLA. Her work over more than 40 years included education, scholarship, mentoring, consulting, and recruitment in health sciences librarianship, including integrating informatics into the health information curriculum at the University of North Texas. The scholarship is supported by the Lucretia W. McClure endowment fund.
