The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) Scholars Program supports promising early-career investigators pursuing clinical, translational, or basic science research relevant to multiple myeloma. It combines research funding with career development, mentoring, collaborations, and access to technologies and other resources. The program seeks to broaden participation among researchers whose communities and perspectives better reflect the demographic diversity of the real-world myeloma patient population.
Research needs include understanding disease development and progression, optimizing treatment and treatment sequencing, investigating drug resistance and relapse, and developing tools to monitor or intercept these events. Black/African American applicants with a strong interest in the multiple myeloma patient population are strongly encouraged to apply. Projects do not need a specific diversity, equity, and inclusion focus, but must include a plan for appropriate patient population representation.
