Key Information: Applicants need at least three years in Mississippi Whole Schools and a Field Advisor’s recommendation.
Description
Model Schools is the demonstration-school level of Mississippi Whole Schools, a Mississippi Arts Commission program that promotes learning in and through the arts across disciplines. It recognizes schools that have received extensive training, embedded arts integration in daily instruction, and developed sustainable practices that have changed school culture.
The award supports continued professional learning and arts integration through staff training, teaching-artist or consultant workshops, Field Advisor visits, and cash for the school’s work. Participating Model Schools also demonstrate their practices to other Mississippi Whole Schools members through site visits and future learning events.
