The Montana Native Plant Society (MNPS) supports projects that stimulate research, conservation, and education concerning Montana’s native plants and plant communities. Its goals are to foster appreciation of native flora and promote conservation through better understanding of the plants, vegetation, and factors affecting their survival. Grants cover scientific studies, educational activities, conservation, native plant restoration, and native plant gardens.
The Grants & Giving Program builds on the Small Grants Program, established in 1996 and operated through 2023. Following expansion work in 2024, awards resumed in 2025. The broader program also includes academic and professional development scholarships, Board-initiated gifts, and support for MNPS chapters. Grant selection favors collaboration, data or public support advancing conservation in the wild, and non-revenue-generating projects.
