The Montgomery Family Fund is administered by the Shiawassee Community Foundation through its Fall Grant Cycle. It supports programs and projects that benefit Shiawassee County in one or more of four areas: conservation, recreation, the arts, and people with special needs. Qualifying organizations serving a charitable purpose can apply for support for work within these areas.
The fund honors Allen Montgomery, an Owosso High School biology teacher remembered by his students as a tennis enthusiast. He carried racquets in his car and would provide one to any student who showed an interest. The fund brings its four areas of community benefit together within a single grant opportunity.
