Description
The Monyeen Black Memorial Grant is an annual award offered through the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) to support professionals beginning careers in stenographic reporting. It serves new professionals working in judicial reporting, including official and freelance reporting, CART, or captioning. The grant provides career support rather than funding a specified research study or project.
The award honors Monyeen Black, RPR, CRR, a deposition reporter who was professionally certified in California and owned MBreporting in San Ramon. Black passed away on January 11, 2021, and was an active member of the 100-Day Practice Group on Facebook. NCRF also established a memorial fundraiser to contribute to the annual grant.
