Description
The Mountains to Sea Graduate Research Fellowship is jointly funded by the North Carolina Water Resources Research Institute (NC WRRI) and North Carolina Sea Grant. It supports graduate student research on coastal and freshwater resources across North Carolina, under the guidance of a faculty advisor. Projects should align with the strategic plans of NC WRRI and/or NC Sea Grant and address at least one fellowship research focus area.
The program supports work spanning water quality and quantity, contaminants, resource management, flooding, treatment, and remote sensing. Proposals must explain their significance to North Carolina and include plans to communicate and disseminate results. Meaningful engagement with the public, resource managers, landowners, and state or local governments is strongly encouraged.
