Description
The Mycological Society of America’s Climate Change Research Award supports research that could lead to practical, viable solutions to mitigate the fundamental causes of global climate change caused by human activity. Fungi, their functions, or their outputs must be essential elements of the research. The program takes a broad view of climate research and considers creative, novel approaches in both fundamental and translational fungal-climate science, including aspects of fungi that have not previously been studied in detail.
Administered by MSA’s Research Awards Committee, the award supports undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral scientists at US institutions of higher learning. Funded research results must be freely available to the global scientific community, and recipients must also share their work through an article for a general audience.
