Summary: Supports international doctoral research and training networks that develop scientific and transferable skills for careers within and outside academia.
Key Information: Applications require a consortium of at least three independent entities across three EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, including one EU Member State.
MSCA Doctoral Networks funds international doctoral programmes under Horizon Europe, bringing together universities, research institutions, research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors. The programme is open to all research disciplines. Networks must combine a coherent research programme with interlinked, personalised doctoral projects addressing identified research and innovation needs.
Run through the European Commission and European Research Executive Agency, the programme combines original research with international, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral training. It supports transferable skills such as communication, entrepreneurship, intellectual property management and digital competences, alongside Open Science, research integrity, supervision and career guidance. Standard Doctoral Networks, Industrial Doctorates and Joint Doctorates aim to improve researchers’ employability, strengthen institutional research capacity and establish lasting collaboration between academic and non-academic organisations.
