Description
The Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Breast Pathology Fellowship is a one-year, full-time program designed to provide advanced training in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant breast diseases. Fellows participate in rotations across major clinical disciplines—including breast diagnostic clinic, imaging, surgery, oncology, and medical genetics—gaining a comprehensive, multidisciplinary perspective. The program emphasizes hands-on experience with advanced laboratory techniques (immunohistochemistry, molecular genetics, cytogenetics), high-volume case review, and active participation in multidisciplinary conferences. Research is strongly encouraged, with access to extensive resources and specialty laboratories. The fellowship is intended to prepare trainees for careers in academic medicine or large referral centers.
