Key Information: A PhD is not required; U.S.-Uzbek dual citizens are ineligible.
Description
This Fulbright U.S. Scholar award supports undergraduate and graduate teaching, or combined teaching and research, at universities in Uzbekistan. Scholars may mentor students, develop curricula and academic programs, lead faculty workshops, and pursue research of their own choosing or designated by the host. The program promotes mutual understanding and lasting cooperation between U.S. and Uzbek institutions, with placement support from the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent.
Host institutions particularly need expertise in geology, mining, business, and STEM. Faculty and administrators with experience in research and publication, curriculum modernization, academic administration, and transition to a credit-based system are especially encouraged. Scholars contribute to Uzbekistan’s higher education reforms and may also give guest lectures, public talks, and other community programming.
