    Description

This award provides U.S. scholars with the opportunity to conduct research in any field at an appropriate host institution in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Scholars will engage with well-resourced institutions and a diverse academic community, contribute to the development of research capabilities, and may advise student research. The program also encourages public talks, mentoring, and other forms of engagement with the host community, in line with the Fulbright mission of promoting international understanding and cooperation. A teaching component may be added in rare cases.

Applicants may propose affiliations with any suitable UAE institution, with a preference for Emirati institutions, though U.S.-style institutions or those with significant non-Emirati populations are considered on a case-by-case basis.
