Description
The Fulbright Scholar Program supports research across all disciplines in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Scholars may pursue their own research or a project designated by a host institution, help develop institutional research capabilities, and advise student research. Supported approaches include scientific, qualitative, quantitative, applied, clinical, and practice-based research, including artistic research. In rare cases, selected scholars may be asked to add teaching to their proposals.
The award also advances Fulbright’s goal of strengthening relationships between the United States and other nations through international understanding and cooperation. Scholars may give public talks, mentor students, engage with host communities, and share expertise with local audiences or the media. Applicants may propose an appropriate UAE host, with preference for Emirati institutions.
