Description
The Municipal Harbor Facility Grants Program provides financial support for the construction, major maintenance, repair, expansion, or new construction of harbor facilities owned by municipalities or regional housing authorities in Alaska. Administered by the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF), this program is designed to recapitalize local harbor infrastructure and ensure the long-term sustainability of Alaska’s public harbor system. Established in 2006, the program operates on a 50/50 matching basis, with two tiers of eligibility prioritizing major maintenance and repair of harbors formerly owned by the state (Tier I), followed by all other eligible harbor projects (Tier II).
