Description
The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) created this program in 2024 to help city and county governments replace diesel equipment. It supports the early replacement of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and transit buses, or their engines, as part of an effort to reduce diesel emissions in Wyoming.
Funding comes partly from the Environmental Protection Agency through the Diesel Emission Reduction Act and partly from matching funds from the 2016 Volkswagen Settlement. DEQ provides reimbursement toward eligible replacements and makes information about past projects funded through these sources available on the program page.
