Key Information: Applicants must be members of the Society for Renaissance Studies.
The Society for Renaissance Studies runs this bursary scheme to foster Renaissance research within the museum, archive and library community. It supports scholars developing advanced research in art history, material culture, museum studies and related disciplines. Projects focus on the making and collecting of artworks and objects during the Renaissance, approximately 1300–1700, that are now held in museums and galleries.
Awards provide financial assistance for original research that may inform a publication, exhibition or display. The scheme also supports research into new methods of interpreting and communicating the Renaissance. Preference may be given to subjects arising from a current museum project that takes a cross-disciplinary approach.
