Description
The Music Therapy Impact Fund at North Valley Community Foundation expands access to high-quality, research-informed music therapy throughout Butte County. Its priorities are strengthening existing services, developing new programs that meet community needs, and establishing music therapy as a standard part of healthcare. The fund reduces financial barriers so participants can access meaningful therapeutic experiences at little to no cost.
Music therapy uses music and its elements to support quality of life and physical, social, communicative, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual wellbeing. The fund supports group programs, hospice and palliative care music therapy, and individual scholarships. Its broader purpose includes developing sustainable programs and supporting individual services for community members in Chico and surrounding areas.
