Description
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity runs this two-week immersive residency for individual dancers and emerging choreographers exploring the distinctive choreographic languages of musical theatre. Participants rotate through faculty-led choreographic labs and take daily technique and improvisation classes to deepen their physical and artistic practice and experience different creative approaches.
Collaborative creation is central to the program, with rehearsal processes designed to strengthen adaptive skills and support artistic exploration. Mentorship, feedback, and self-reflection accompany studio work, faculty seminars, and workshops. The residency culminates in informal studio showings and a public sharing of work in progress, giving participants opportunities to present and reflect on what they have developed.
