Description
My First AIRC Grant (MFAG), run by the Foundation for Cancer Research in Italy, supports five-year cancer research projects led by young scientists who have never received AIRC funding. The program gives researchers experience directing their own project at an excellent research institution in Italy, helping them become progressively autonomous and scientifically independent.
Support combines research costs with salaries for the grant holder and two staff members dedicated to the project. Cancer relevance, innovation, and feasibility are the central priorities in international peer review. The active project portfolio includes work at universities, hospitals, and research institutes across Italian regions.
