    Description

NAGT’s Career Prep Workshop Grants help graduate students participate in the Preparing for an Academic Career workshop. Supported by the Student Career Preparation Fund, established through donations from NAGT members and donors, the program prepares future geoscience educators for academic positions. Workshop leaders representing varied institution types and career paths help participants explore academic careers in different educational settings and plan their next career stage.

The workshop addresses job searches, applications, interviews, CVs, communication skills, and research and teaching statements. Participants also learn to design effective lessons, locate geoscience educational resources, and advance their research programs. The workshop takes place biennially at the Earth Educators’ Rendezvous and online in intervening years.
