Description
NASA Headquarters’ Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program supports innovative research through multiple phases of awards. Phase I funds studies that explore the overall feasibility and viability of visionary concepts, typically over nine months. This solicitation is an appendix to the Space Technology Mission Directorate’s Space Technology Research, Development, Demonstration, and Infusion 2026 research announcement.
The Phase I proposal process has two steps: a brief Step A proposal open to eligible applicants, followed by an expanded Step B proposal for invited applicants. NASA expects to make 16 awards.
