Description
The NASPGHAN Foundation/Alcresta award supports meritorious research by fellows and junior faculty in pediatric digestive health. Areas of interest include nutrition related to fatty acids in preterm infants and patients with short bowel syndrome or intestinal failure, including associated complications. These topics are not exclusive, and a broad range of scientific inquiry is encouraged.
Eligible work spans clinical, translational, laboratory, and quality improvement sciences. Collaboration across scientific disciplines, including participation by registered dieticians, is encouraged. The NASPGHAN Research Committee and invited experts assess scientific significance, innovation, and the potential to influence pediatric gastroenterology and the care of children with pancreatic disease.
