Description
The National Housing Trust Fund is a federal affordable-housing production program administered in South Carolina by SC Housing. It complements other federal, state and local efforts to increase and preserve decent, safe and sanitary rental housing for extremely low-income households, including homeless families.
Funds support affordable, non-luxury housing with suitable amenities. SC Housing has made NHTF funding available for new construction and rehabilitation of rental housing through its Small Rental Development Program (SRDP). The program emphasizes long-term affordability: assisted units carry a minimum 30-year affordability period.
