Summary: Supports rigorous research and evaluation to better understand, respond to, and reduce human trafficking in the United States.
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ), in collaboration with the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), supports rigorous research and evaluation on human trafficking in the United States. The program seeks to improve understanding of trafficking, strengthen responses, and reduce its occurrence and harms.
The opportunity focuses on three areas: prevention, including justice system and other initiatives that prevent trafficking or further harm after trafficking occurs; evaluation of federal policies that may unintentionally perpetuate or increase human trafficking; and applied research and program evaluations that directly support effective services for American victims.
