Description
The American Physical Society (APS) offers NMC Student Emergency Grants to help National Mentoring Community mentees facing sudden financial emergencies remain on the path toward a physics degree. Formerly known as Emergency and Experience Grants (EMERGE), the program focuses on immediate financial obstacles that could interrupt students’ studies and prevent degree completion.
The support is intended to sustain continued study in physics rather than fund a separate research project. Applicants describe their emergency, identify the total cost of support needed, and indicate whether the situation prevents them from continuing toward their degree. The EMERGE Fund is supported by Kenton and Amy Brown and other donors.
