    Description

The National Mentoring Community Emergency and Experience Grants (EMERGE) program, offered by the American Physical Society, supports mentees in the National Mentoring Community (NMC) who are pursuing physics or closely related degrees. The program provides two types of grants:

    • Emergency Grants: For NMC mentees facing sudden financial emergencies that threaten their ability to continue their physics studies.
    • Experience Grants: To help cover costs associated with professional development opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, or research experiences.

The goal is to ensure students can remain on track academically and benefit from career-enhancing experiences, especially those from marginalized backgrounds.
