The National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s clinical mentorship introduces psychology graduate students to careers in multiple sclerosis (MS) care and research. During a four-week experience, students observe assessment and management strategies, learn how current research informs treatment, and encounter comprehensive neurological care and rehabilitation.
The program emphasizes MS diagnostic criteria and comprehensive management of neurocognitive, mood, and psychosocial issues. It also encourages awareness of health disparities and social determinants of health in MS. Participants learn about the Society’s resources for professional training, networking, and support. The mentorship is full time during regular business hours, with possible evening hours.
