Description
The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Hong Kong’s Research Grants Council (RGC) jointly run this scheme to strengthen research output and impact in both places. It supports larger-scale collaborations that draw on the complementary strengths of Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong researchers, research groups and universities.
The six focus areas are information technology, life science, new materials science, marine and environmental science, medicine, and management science. Proposals outside these areas may be submitted under “Other.” Selection considers scientific merit and innovation, opportunities for effective collaboration, and the project’s long-term goals and potential impact in both places.
