Description
The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) jointly run the Young Research Scheme to provide enhanced support for early-career academics. Launched as a three-year pilot, it supports research jointly proposed by young researchers in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland.
The six focus areas are Information Technology, Life Science, New Materials Science, Marine and Environmental Science, Medicine, and Management Science. Research outside these areas may be submitted under “Other.” The scheme prioritises scientific merit and innovation, effective collaboration, complementary strengths across the two places, and long-term research goals and impacts.
