    Description

The National Research Foundation’s Research Infrastructure Professional Programme (RIPP) Postdoctoral Fellowships support research in South Africa that combines the use of state-of-the-art equipment or infrastructure with advanced training in its optimal utilisation and management. Administered by the Next Generation and Emerging Researchers (NGER) department, the programme links infrastructure training directly to the fellow’s planned research activities.

Applicants must explain the research problem, its rationale and literature base, aims, methodology, and proposed research plan. The application also addresses anticipated outputs, potential impact, and alignment with national imperatives. RIPP is specifically for researchers who will both use relevant infrastructure and receive advanced training; researchers without this combination are directed to the NRF postdoctoral fellowship call instead.
