    Description

    This opportunity supports research in applied mathematics that is motivated by and contributes to the solution of problems in science and engineering. Proposals must demonstrate mathematical innovation and have broad and high-quality impact on applications. Projects that provide rigorous training for junior applied mathematicians are encouraged. Both single investigator and interdisciplinary team projects are eligible.

    Proposals for conferences and workshops must be submitted through the separate "Conferences and Workshops in the Mathematical Sciences" program. Special submission timelines apply to conference/workshop proposals, particularly for those with budgets exceeding $50,000 or for events outside the United States.
