Description
The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) administers this program with funding from Proposition 4, the 2024 Climate Bond. It supports buildings, equipment, structures, and exhibit galleries that present collections and help people engage with nature and climate. Projects promote climate, biodiversity, and cultural literacy and may support species recovery and biodiversity protection in pursuit of California’s 30x30 conservation goal.
The Budget Act of 2025 identified five projects for funding, ranging from a geologic heritage site to collection digitization and an interactive water exhibit. CNRA has not reported an allocation for nature and climate education facilities in the Budget Act of 2026. If future funding is appropriated for a competitive program, CNRA will announce it through its email update list.
