The National Bureau of Economic Research’s Center for Aging and Health Research, with NIH support, will convene a research conference in Stanford, California, on June 2–3, 2027. Organized by Nikhil Agarwal (MIT and NBER) and Kevin Schulman (Stanford University), the meeting welcomes perspectives from economics, computer science, medicine, and other disciplines on AI’s effects on healthcare quality and efficiency.
Submissions may address any aspect of AI in healthcare. Particular interests include clinical decision-making; productivity and the workforce; administration, billing, and fraud; patient-facing services; biomedical innovation; data infrastructure and interoperability; implicit bias and unequal access; market structure and adoption incentives; aging and caregiving; and development and clinical and regulatory evaluation of AI tools. Oral and poster presentations accommodate research at different stages of completion.
