Description
The National Bureau of Economic Research’s Gender in the Economy group, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, offers dissertation fellowships to encourage research on gender issues across the globe and through history. The program supports doctoral students in economics and allied fields, including political science and health policy, pursuing independent dissertation research.
Research may address developing or developed economies, historical settings, or a combination. Topics include victimization and violence against women, household finance, women’s roles in health and education, gender and the labor market, economic development and female labor force participation, women- and child-centered policies, and masculinity norms. Fellows are selected for their potential to make important contributions to the field.
