    Description

The NBER Center for Aging and Health Research, with support from the National Institutes of Health, will convene a research conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the economics of GLP-1 therapies. The meeting examines factors affecting demand and supply, implications for health care spending and insurance markets, and broader economic effects. It responds to growing use of these treatments for weight loss and chronic disease, high costs, differing insurance coverage policies, and the emergence of data suitable for economic research.

The organizers welcome completed papers and work in progress from economics and related disciplines. Topics include chronic disease prevalence and treatment costs, public insurance coverage and budgets, pricing and competition, demand, pharmaceutical research and development, and individual and economy-wide outcomes.
