Supported by the James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Foundation, the fellowship provides a dedicated research setting at NBER’s Cambridge headquarters for the 2027–28 academic year.
The research agenda includes disparities in wealth and income, the intergenerational transmission of inequality, the effects of public policies and economic shocks on disparities, and related issues. Applications are welcomed from researchers completing their PhDs and junior faculty who can combine the fellowship with early-career leave. Selection emphasizes applicants’ potential to make an important contribution to understanding wealth and income inequality.
