The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), with support from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), offers a one-year postdoctoral fellowship to promote research bringing new perspectives to agricultural economics. The appointment is for the 2027–28 academic year at NBER’s headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It welcomes researchers completing their PhDs in agricultural economics and junior faculty who may combine the fellowship with early-career leave.
The fellowship centers on the applicant’s proposed research for the fellowship year. Fellows are expected to spend the full academic year in residence, participate in program meetings related to their research focus, and make fellowship-related research and activities their primary responsibility. Alongside the stipend, NBER provides research and travel support, IT assistance, and an office.
